1. Acceptance of Terms
Welcome to I Got U Corp (“I Got U,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our website(s), digital platforms, and therapy services (in-person and via telehealth). By accessing or using our services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must discontinue use of our services immediately.
2. Our Services
I Got U provides mental health services, including but not limited to:
• Online therapy (telehealth) and in-person psychotherapy sessions
• Trauma counseling
• Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
• Anxiety and depression treatment
• General mental health assessments and resources
Not an Emergency Service: I Got U does not offer emergency or crisis services. If you are in crisis or believe you are experiencing a medical or psychiatric emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency department.
3. Telehealth Acknowledgment
By using our telehealth services (e.g., via SimplePractice or another secure platform), you understand and agree that:
• Nature of Telehealth: Sessions occur via secure videoconferencing but may involve potential technical risks (internet disruptions, unauthorized access, etc.).
• Consent for Telehealth: You have read and agreed to our “Consent for Telehealth” form, which explains telehealth benefits, risks, and alternatives. If telehealth proves inadequate due to technical issues, you or your provider may discontinue or reschedule.
• Not for Emergencies: Telehealth by SimplePractice is not an emergency service. In an emergency, please call 911.
4. User Responsibilities
You agree that, when using our services, you will:
• Provide Accurate Information: Submit true, complete, and up-to-date personal and health information.
• Use Services Lawfully: Comply with applicable laws, refrain from sharing harmful or false information, and respect our staff and practitioners.
• Maintain Confidentiality: Do not share telehealth links or session details with unauthorized persons.
• Respect Boundaries: Understand that we do not accept personal social media “friend” requests or communications outside professional channels to protect your confidentiality and our professional boundaries.
5. Appointments and Cancellations•
Scheduling: Appointments can be scheduled online or by phone. Standard sessions last 50 minutes unless otherwise agreed upon.
• Cancellation Policy: We require at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the appointment time will be charged the full session fee.
• Late Arrivals: Your session may be shortened if you arrive late, yet you remain responsible for the full session fee.
6. Fees, Payment, and Refunds
• Payment Methods: We accept various payment methods (credit card, insurance, etc.), as specified during scheduling.
• Insurance: Where applicable, we may bill your insurance provider with your consent. You are responsible for any co-payments, deductibles, or fees not covered by your plan.
• Refunds: Fees for rendered sessions are generally nonrefundable. Any requests for refunds or fee waivers will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
7. Confidentiality and Privacy
• HIPAA Compliance: We are committed to safeguarding your Protected Health Information (“PHI”) in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). For details, see our Privacy Policy and Notice of Privacy Practices.
• Electronic Communications: While we use reasonable safeguards (e.g., encryption), we cannot guarantee the absolute confidentiality of information transmitted electronically (e.g., email, text messages).
• Social Media: We do not engage with clients on personal social media accounts to protect confidentiality and maintain therapeutic boundaries.
8. Intellectual Property
• Ownership: All text, images, graphics, logos, and other content on our website and in our materials are the property of I Got U Corp or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
• Restrictions: You may not copy, distribute, modify, or create derivative works of any content without our express written permission.
9. Limitation of Liability
• No Guaranteed Outcomes: While we strive to provide quality mental health care, we make no guarantees regarding therapy outcomes. Results vary based on individual circumstances.
• Indirect Damages: To the fullest extent permitted by law, I Got U shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of our services.
• Data Security: Although we employ security protocols, we cannot be held responsible for unauthorized access to or misuse of your information outside our control (e.g., hacking incidents).
10. Third-Party Links and Resources
Our website or communications may contain links to external sites or resources. These links are provided as a convenience, and we are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or content of third-party materials.
11. Modifications to Terms
We may revise these Terms periodically. Any significant changes will be posted with a new “Effective Date.” By continuing to use our services after updates go into effect, you agree to be bound by the revised Terms.
12. Termination
• User-Initiated Termination: You may discontinue using our services at any time.
• Provider-Initiated Termination: We reserve the right to terminate or suspend services if you fail to pay fees, violate these Terms, or if clinical judgment indicates therapy is no longer effective or appropriate. We will provide referrals upon termination where possible.
• No-Show or Inactivity: If you do not schedule an appointment for four consecutive weeks (without prior arrangement), we may consider the therapeutic relationship discontinued for legal and ethical reasons.
13. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
